Michele Cannon studies International Migration at The CUNY Graduate Center, with a particular focus on human rights and refugee topics such as transit migration and spaces of confinement. She first began working with vulnerable populations as a communications volunteer for the Western Sahara International Film Festival (FiSahara) in 2010. Currently, she is a language educator and contributes translation and interpretation services for the New York Legal Assistance Group. She holds a B.A. from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo and a M.A. from New York University.
